Changes

Happy May!  This year continues to be a busy one for the Sea Horse team.  As you may have noticed, we have made significant upgrades to the street side of the building landscaping.  We’ve also remodeled the upstairs guest laundry and made other improvements to the building.  We’ve also begun our planned re-landscaping of the beach side of the building, which will include new plants, improved shower stations, and modernized grilling facilities among other things.  Other major investments have been made to replace the pool heating system and parts of the air conditioning system — over the past 3 years, we have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to upgrade the resort, and we are far from finished.  More news to come regarding other changes at the resort …

Happy Easter

We want to wish everyone a Happy Easter!  This year has really gotten off to a fast start, and the Sea Horse team has been busy keeping up with the steady flow of guests, improving processes to provide better guest services, and sprucing up the resort.  So far this year, we’ve cleaned up the street side landscaping, painted all of the patios and decks, and remodeled the upstairs guest laundry among other things.  We have many more updates planned for the remainder of the year.  We hope you will come check out the changes soon.

Happy 2024 Everyone!  Okay, we may be getting a bit of a late start on our good wishes for the new year, but we’re really looking forward to what the new year will bring.  We’ve gotten off to a busy start.  Since our last posting, we have added several new employees and have the whole team focused on guest relations..  We also have completed major building refurbishments and are about finished with refreshing the front landscaping.  We also have had a number of units complete full renovations and several others have had major upgrades.  We have many more plans for the coming year.  We hope to see you soon..

Happy Thanksgiving!

The SeaHorse wants to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  We have much to be thankful for:  an outstanding guest base that is loyal and growing, a great team of employees that is focusing on guest service, and an engaged ownership group that is committed to improving the resort.  Thank you!

Focusing on Guest Services

We hope everyone is having a great summer.  It certainly has been a busy one for the Sea Horse, bringing lots of new guests and some challenges, too.  As we have reflected on this time, we identified a need to focus more on guest services.  As a result, we are revisiting our lobby operations, updating some policies/practices, and restructuring our team.

In terms of the team, we are adjusting roles to put a greater emphasis on guest services.  When Santa returns from maternity, she will be focused on guest and employee relations.  Much of the day-to-day administrative work will be offloaded or automated.  To support Santa, Ingrid will lead Housekeeping to ensure units are in top shape for guest arrivals.  In addition, Dalia will lead Maintenance in either handling issues or ensuring vendors provide prompt and minimally disruptive service.

The first of the policy changes is regarding payments.  Going forward, all new reservations will require a 25% deposit and payment in full 30-days-prior to arrival.  In addition, a refundable security deposit will be charged, which will be refunded shortly after guest departure, provided no damages, fines, or fees stem from the visit.  We also plan to offer guest travel insurance should unforeseen circumstances alter plans.

These changes will allow our team to focus on guest services rather than payment administration and follow-up and are consistent with industry practice  More info to come on the restructuring, policy/practice changes, and lobby operations.

We are excited to announce the launch of our monthly newsletter, The SeaHorse.  For the inaugural June edition, please click on the newsletter in the next box.  The newsletter is one of many initiatives that we are implementing to build relationships with our guests and provide a better overall beach experience at the resort.  We welcome your comments and ideas.  Please send them to Christine@seahorsebeachresort.com.

Happy Easter

We want to wish everyone a Happy Easter!  Hopefully, Spring has finally arrived for all of our friends across the country and the globe.  Spring has definitely arrived on Longboat Key.  Shipments of new spring merchandise have also arrived and are available for purchase in our lobby.  We also are excited about the launch of our webstore, which is now accessible via the Merchandise button on this website or at willpromo.com/seahorse/shop/home .  The net proceeds from the sale of our merchandise help fund various programs for our employees.  We hope to see you soon at the Sea Horse.

We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of our webstore this week!  Our goal is to provide fun affordable merchandise to show some love for the Sea Horse.  Proceeds from the sales of merchandise helps us offset the costs for employee programs. The Sea Horse team wishes everyone a happy and healthy new year.  There is no better way to start 2023 than by soaking up the sun at the pool or our beautiful beach along the Gulf of Mexico. We are looking forward to seeing our many repeat guests and introducing new ones to the wonderful island of Longboat Key.  We are working to implement a number of new initiatives to enhance our guests’ stay at the resort.  Stay tuned for further developments.  We also are expanding our merchandise line and finalizing preparations for the launch of our webstore.  The beach is calling …

Sea Horse Web Store Coming Soon

We are excited to partner with Will Enterprises in the development of the SeaHorse web store coming soon to your computer or mobile device!  We have dabbled a bit with some merchandise on site and are looking forward to having a selection of quality beach-related merchandise available for sale on the web.  All of our merchandise will feature our SeaHorse logo prominently, and proceeds from the sales will fund programs for our employees.  Stay tuned for the upcoming launch date!

Happy Thanksgiving

It’s that time of year to look back and remember all of the many things for which to give thanks.  At the Sea Horse, we are most thankful for our wonderful hardworking staff, our supportive ownership group, and especially our loyal customers and friends of the Sea Horse.  While we have weathered a number of challenges this year, including the disruption of Hurricane Ian, we are having a very good year.  Thank you for all of the great support!  Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hurricane Ian Update

Our hearts go out to the residents and guests of Southwest Florida devastated by Hurricane Ian.  Fortunately for the Longboat Key area, and the Sea Horse specifically, we were minimally impacted by the storm.  Thanks to our fantastic staff, we were up and running within days of Ian’s passing.  We have limited availability now through 2023 for those whom may have had reservations impacted by the storm.
